Field and Lawn has a proud history of supporting local communities and upholding strong social values

Field and Lawn are passionate about providing social values and harnessing the power of our business as a force for good. Consequently, this generates benefits for the local economy and wider community. Furthermore, we have strong social values and are conscious of our environmental responsibilities. This means the business is continually working to reduce our environmental impact, building on our accreditation as a carbon neutral company.

Our mission: ‘to be the best that we can be’ has shaped our approach to Social Value, for our people, our communities, and our environment.

Being the best that we can be for our people

  • Accredited Living Wage Employer:  We are proud to be one of the few companies in our market who have committed to paying our staff a wage. It means that the costs and pressures of everyday life are more manageable.
  • Comprehensive Staff Training:  Secondly, there is a clear investment in our staff.  On average, they receive 9 days of training each year.  This is significantly above the UK average, enabling them to expand their skills and develop their knowledge.
  • Staff Development: Finally, we are committed to developing our people and providing progression opportunities. As a result of this, 60% of our supervisors and managers have been promoted within the company. Some have even been with us since we were founded in 1986.

enhancing and developing our communities

  • Supporting Young People to Thrive: Field and Lawn is passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to thrive. We are committed to a 3-year partnership with The Princes Trust to support them in their work to help young people build a better future for themselves and their communities.
  • As an Associate Partner: This means we will provide an annual donation as well undertaking localised fundraising events throughout the year. Our target is to donate £10,000 per year.
  • Helping Community Groups : To conclude, we have  been supporting local community groups for over 30 years, including The Edinburgh Cycle Club and Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity.

protecting our environment

  • Carbon Neutral Certified:  The goal is to reduce our carbon footprint. All emissions produced from UK wide operations are 100% offset through an accredited process that is independently verified.
  • Air Pollution Reduction:  Transport is provided by a modern fleet, and all our larger vehicles are Euro 6 compliant. We have a plan in place to switch all cars, vans, and smaller lorries to electric and hybrid vehicles by 2030.
  • Safeguarding the Natural Environment: Ultimately, we continue to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and have been reducing this by 25% per year since 2015.
  • ISO 14001 accreditation:  This international standard specifies our requirements to have an effective environmental management system in place.
