aUTUMN Placemaking

Enchanting autumn evenings

As the nights draw closer and cooler, autumn is a great time to encourage people to come together. There is still plenty of scope for placemaking activations throughout autumn and into winter. We share some examples of how you can use placemaking throughout autumn to capture people imaginations.

Daring Halloween activations

Halloween falls on October 31st and we can provide and install everything from glowing pumpkins, eerie spotlights, bubbling witches cauldrons, uplighting and string lights in warm autumn colours to create unique Halloween experiences.

Halloween selfie spots, feature themed decorations, and lighting effects will all add to the excitement and fun of the shopping experience. We can even include your logo or brand colours into the features for additional marketing reach and engagement.

Why not create spooky-themed trails or install a haunted house in your shopping centre? Our team of expert Project Managers will work with you to design and develop a unique experience, covering all aspects of your Halloween illumination project.

Diwali celebrations

Diwali falls between October and November. There is no better way to celebrate the Festival of Lights with lights! Lantern displays, and decorative arches are a great option as well as vibrant neon lighting and ground feature installations.

Diwali lighting can transform town centres into vibrant, welcoming spaces that encourage people to visit, shop, and celebrate. Bespoke lighting solutions such as illuminated archways, bespoke neon lighting, LED canopy displays, and festoon lighting in dazzling colours can create an inviting atmosphere while enhancing key areas like high streets, public squares, and dining spaces.

Seasonal wayfinding and major events

Ahead of Christmas events like Oktoberfest (September – October) and Bonfire Night (5th November) can benefit from placemaking interventions. We can design and install lederhosen ribbons, giant illuminated steins or even create a bratwurst shaped selfie spot.  Create branded or themed installations, such as giant sparklers or glowing bonfire sculptures to give your bonfire night display extra sparkle.

Clever wayfinding can also help people navigate to other events such as ice rinks and markets.  Guiding and encouraging footfall in a unique and memorable way to enhance the overall experience.

Lighting trails

With darker nights ahead, lighting trails provide the perfect opportunity in late autumn. Light trails give venues a welcome pre-winter boost and often start in October and November.

When it comes to lighting trails, we have a wide range of options which include a completely bespoke design.  Our creatives can advise on product options, installation methodology and provide all the relevant documentation to ensure a safe and successful lighting trail. We also have a range of ready to hire, ex-display features that are tested, checked and ready to wow!

Seasonal placemaking solutions

Panto season is also upon us, you can use placemaking to promote the show. We can work with you to transform theatres and surrounding areas.  How about installing an interactive or oversized prop related to the pantomime we would love to install some magic light up beans for Jack and the Beanstalk or a huge glass slipper selfie spot for Cinderella! It would certainly encourage social media buzz.
