The Southern Counties Canine Association Dog Show is an annual event. It is known for its scale and significance in the dog show circuit. Hosted at the Newbury Showground over four days in June, it attracts over 6,000 dog owners, enthusiasts, and participants. As a renowned supplier of event marquees, Field and Lawn played a crucial role in providing infrastructure and support for the event.
Field and Lawn’s involvement in the Southern Counties Dog Show encompassed a range of services. There was a particular focus on the provision of two large clearspan “Show Ring” structures. The Field & Lawn team installed 3.700m2 of event infrastructure for the Dog Show. This included a clearspan administration tent and president’s lounge. These structures all became key for running the event successfully.
A holistic event solution
Our in-house team of expert marquee riggers efficiently handled logistics for the delivery, installation, and subsequent dismantling of the marquees across the show site. As part of our delivery for the event, the team ensured that they were available handle any repairs or maintenance work that was needed. The team showed a commitment to addressing any unforeseen issues promptly to ensure the smooth operation of the event.
On the ground
Understanding the unique needs of the Southern Counties Canine Association, Field and Lawn actively engaged in open and frequent communication with the client. Regular site visits and discussions were conducted to ensure that the marquees met the specific requirements of creating a comfortable and safe space for dog owners and enthusiasts.
A health and safety focus
Field and Lawn adopted an uncompromising approach to health and safety. Thorough risk assessments were conducted, leading to the development of a comprehensive RAMs for the build.
Clearspan Show Ring Structures
One of the key structures supplied by Field & Lawn was the large, clearspan 15m x 95m and 20m x 95m show ring structures. These marquees were designed to accommodate the various shows taking place on-site, offering a clear view of the competitions.
Successful Project Delivery
The successful execution of the project was overseen by Senior Project Manager, Dan Acford. Dan planned and implemented a four-day build program to ensure the client programme was achieved.
The collaboration between Field and Lawn and a major canine association resulted in the creation of a memorable and secure environment for all participants and attendees at one of the largest dog shows of the year.
