Field and Lawn’s Scotland branch were delighted to work with NHS Lothian on a new development in the fight against Covid-19.
We were part of a fantastic team, delivering the drive-through Covid-19 vaccination centre at Queen Margaret University in East Lothian.
The whole team worked tirelessly to install the structure, and even Storm Darcy couldn’t stop the centre opening as planned!
The only site of its kind for NHS Lothian, the centre can vaccinate around 720 people per day at 12 stations, seven days a week.
Teams of vaccinators will be able to deliver the life-saving vaccination to people without them leaving their car.
Pat Wynne, director of nursing for primary and community care at NHS Lothian, said: “The opening of our only drive-through mass vaccination centre is a big day for both NHS Lothian and East Lothian.
“It is a unique site for us, and it will allow us to deliver more vaccines to the people we serve. A significant amount of effort has gone into preparing the QMU site to ensure that the drive-through will run as quickly and smoothly as possible. I am extremely proud of the work undertaken by our staff and partners to get this site up and running and ready to receive patients.”
