  • Additional services available including showers, toilets, furniture, protective screening, lighting and HVAC

We have spent the last year providing structures for schools, councils, and the NHS across the country. We can help to advise on your requirements and ensure that you have an appropriate and functional facility to make school life possible again.

Rowing Team Raises Over £165,000 for Charity

“Shall we row back?”

These were the first words spoken by the ‘Fitter Planet’ team arriving after their epic 3000-mile row across the Atlantic, completing the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. They finished their journey in an impressive 42 days, 3 hours and 47 minutes.

Field and Lawn is incredibly proud to be one of the ‘Fitter Planet’ team’s main sponsors who have raised over £165,000 for Unicef and ShelterBox so far.

The team was elated and overcome with joy on arrival at Antigua’s famous English Harbour at the weekend.

They were the sixth to arrive out of the 21 boats that set off on the 12th of December. The journey was about a week longer than expected due to unusual Westerly winds about halfway through, but the ‘4afitterplanet’ team kept their pace of 2 hours on, 2 hours off the whole way, experiencing all sorts of wildlife and weather in the process.

We’re incredibly proud of the team – Rich, Keith, Josh and James – and we congratulate them on this achievement of a lifetime. Enjoy your well-earned rest guys!

Click and Collect for the Retail, Trade and Motor Industries

As restrictions from Covid-19 tightened throughout the UK, Field and Lawn worked closely with clients in the Motor, Trade and Retail Industries to provide solutions to enable their showrooms and shops to stay open for business in a safe, socially distanced manner.

We were able to provide a wide range of flexible structures allowing for ‘click and collect’ services and handovers to take place outside of the showroom, helping to keep everyone safer. We recently provided over 750 sq. metres of structures to businesses across the Motor Industry for a variety of uses.

Our temporary structures provide a quick solution to issues caused by the ongoing pandemic. They can assist in keeping your business open during these challenging times. They can be used for temporary storage, a shelter for loading and unloading, to quarantine certain products, or as a more open and safe space to exchange goods with clients.

We can deliver marquees in a matter of days to provide additional space to maximise your business goals. Your rental agreement can be tailored to your needs as you can hire for a number of days, weeks or months.

Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge

On Saturday the 12th of December, 21 teams of rowers started one of the world’s toughest physical challenges.

Departing from La Gomera in the Canary Islands, they embarked on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge – an epic 3000-mile voyage rowing across the Atlantic to Antigua.

Back on dry land, the Field and Lawn team is delighted to sponsor the 4-team boat, ‘For a Fitter Planet‘ who are raising money for Shelterbox and Workout for Water.

The team of 4 great friends are rowing in pairs – 2 hours on, 2 hours off for 24 hours a day for up to 40 days.

Richard, James, Josh and Keith are friends from school and university who have been in training for over a year now and are as fit as they ever have been.

They set out in beautiful sunny weather with the wind in their faces (which is good news when you are rowing) and expect their boat to arrive in the Caribbean Island of Antigua in mid-January.

You can keep track of the team’s progress through their website and we’re delighted to see they’re already halfway there!

Field and Lawn become an Associate of The Princes Trust

With 2020 being a tough and challenging year, we at Field & Lawn have continued working ceaselessly through the pandemic and, with the events industry being decimated, have been able to secure work providing structures, signage and a host of other COVID related services. We know others have been less fortunate and in particular the younger generation have been very hard hit.

We are therefore delighted to announce we have become an Associate of The Princes Trust. The Prince’s Trust supports 11 to 30-year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school, helping to bridge the gap from education into working life and get young lives on track.

With a £5,000 donation already made, it is our intention for our branches to integrate with the charity at a local level, fundraise in their local communities to match this figure and really help make a difference both locally and nationally to the Prince’s Trust.

“The Prince’s Trust are so excited to announce our new partnership with Field and Lawn – we are really looking forward to having their support as we step into 2021! Their support means that we will be able to provide young people with a brighter future and the skills needed to get their lives back on track.”
Emily Kerr, Corporate Partnerships Executive

Cameron Stewart, Chief Executive comments “Like The Princes Trust we believe that every young person should have the chance to embrace the opportunities life offers and we are delighted to be supporting this very worthy cause.”

Vehicle Transport and Storage Structures

Field and Lawn’s permanent structures come in all shapes and sizes to suit a wide range of uses. We recently installed one of our industrial structures for a vehicle logistics and storage provider.

At their new site in Bathgate, the company needed to be able to process over 100 new vehicles per day for a full pre-delivery inspection, getting them ready for transportation all over the UK.

With no available buildings onsite to use for this purpose, Field and Lawn provided the solution.

We had nine weeks to create a structure measuring 225 sqm with a 5-metre eve to allow for the processing of larger vans. We needed to ensure the structure could be deconstructed and moved to another site, that it was thermally insulated, and that electric roller shutter doors and pedestrian access doors were incorporated.

Comprising a double-skin inflated roof system to remove excessive condensation the structure was also provided with corner bracing to maximise the working area by utilising the roof space.

As well as all of this, we also acted on the client’s behalf to engage with our Planning Consultants.

Providing this service allows the client to continue running their business while ensuring everything was being looked after behind the scenes concerning their planning application.
