They are crafted using industrial-standard materials with engineered power distribution, requiring professional installation and maintenance, and offer much brighter output and visual impact than a standard or domestic Christmas lights.

Common types include commercial-grade LED string lights, pole-mounted street decorations and large 3D decorations and light sculptures such as Christmas trees, baubles or giant presents. Due to their large size and footprint, they are often best suited to photo points and high traffic areas.

IP ratings and quality standards for large outdoor Christmas lighting

LED lighting products are designed to IP66 and above. The IP standard in the context of festive lighting stands for ingress protection. The first number is for foreign particulates, i.e. dust, with 6 being the highest standard and a dust tight seal. The second numeral relates to the protection against liquids and uses a scale from 0 (no protection). With 6 providing protection against powerful water jets.

This means products can withstand unpredictable winter weather conditions, including rain and moisture, meaning they provide a robust and durable commercial grade solution. Connecting Lincoln with large Christmas decorations

When the Lincoln BIG wanted to create a large-scale city-wide lighting trail, we designed some impressive options for key city centre locations, including a giant reindeer that lit up Brayford Wharf.

The reflections looked great on the rippling water! Large “Lincoln” light up lettering, provided the perfect photo point just outside the Castle and finally, families enjoyed stepping onto a giant sleigh just outside the bus station. It really connected areas of the city together and encouraged people to warm up with a hot drink or a delicious meal at one of the many cafes, restaurants, and pubs that Lincoln has to offer.
