Outdoor Christmas lighting display in Cambridge

Cambridge is a bustling city with a unique and eclectic retail offer. Our creative experts worked collaboratively with the Business Improvement District to design, manufacture and install a unique Christmas lighting display covering twenty key streets across the city for Christmas.

We have worked with Cambridge BID for seven years, providing a wide range of Christmas decoration services. Our most recent city-wide scheme combined stunning large scale street lights and warm white, shop front decoration, using icicle lighting. A key element of the scheme and focal point for the display was the provision of a 5m high 3D, LED colour changing Twinkly Pro Christmas tree in the market square. The tree provided the perfect backdrop for lots of family-friendly pictures and selfies.

Town centre Christmas lighting in Ilford

Our client, Ilford BID were looking for an enchanting lighting display that would brighten the town and create a warm, inviting atmosphere for residents and visitors.

We provided a bespoke design proposal, including 10m meteor wraps, 50 lamp posts decorations and 13 trees wraps with delicate pea lights. As a centrepiece, an 8-metre high walk-through cone tree was installed, allowing visitors to experience the festive display up close. This interactive feature became a focal point of the town, drawing in families and creating a perfect backdrop for holiday photos.

If you have been to London at Christmas, you will have seen some our most iconic Christmas street lighting schemes. Our team are responsible for designing, installing and maintaining world famous streets and shopping destinations such as Oxford Street, Bond Street, The Strand, Kings Cross and Covent Garden.

These are complex, high specification installations. We organise all the road closures, traffic management, power supplies as well as providing assistance at the switch on events. The works include annual testing of eyebolts, maintenance and refurbishment of displays. Oxford street alone features over 300,000 LED lights and 5,000 recycled stars stretching over 2km!

What type of permissions are needed for Christmas street lighting?

There are a range of different permissions and consent required to install Christmas street lighting. These typically fall into two categories client permissions and contractor side permissions. We can handle all the necessary permissions including listed building consent and road closure notices.

What are the installation and maintenance considerations?

When installing town centre Christmas lighting, it is important to complete anchor point testing regularly. In addition, lighting products should be PAT tested. Regular maintenance should be conducted annually to keep the display in optimum condition. Our expert, in-house team complete this at our own warehouse.

How do you control the display?

There are a number of ways you can control your Christmas lighting scheme. For example pole mounted features and cross street decorations can be controlled with a simple flick switch or timer.
