Heated marquee hire

ideal for winter events

Warm, weather-proof and heated marquees

If you’re planning an event in the colder months, a heated marquee will keep guests comfortable. Our heated marquee hire packages combine our quality clearspan event marquees, with reliable and sustainable temporary heating that is specifically designed for events. We supply fully enclosed marquees with robust, energy‑efficient heating solutions for events of all sizes, from private celebrations to large corporate gatherings, Christmas parties and long-term, seasonal hire.

What is a heated marquee?

A heated marquee is a temporary structure fitted with a professionally designed heating system to maintain a comfortable internal temperature during cold weather. It forms part of the HVAC (heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and cooling) options, available to event organisers. A heated marquee is professionally engineered using heat load calculations to map the structure and plan the heat distribution accordingly. Marquees can be specified with a wide range of heating options from 750kW packaged boilers with temporary pipework or bunded fuel tanks to small, portable efficient IDF heaters. We can help you find the best heated marquee for your event or longer-term requirement

What’s included with heated marquee hire

Choosing a heated marquee hire package provides the heating units and a temporary event structure combined with professionally specified heating systems to maintain a comfortable internal temperature during cold weather. We provide heating options that are bespoke to the marquee size, layout, expected occupancy and event type, meaning you get an engineered solution, optimised for your event space. Providing the right heated marquee is not simply about adding heaters, our Project Managers will recommend the best option for your event, considering:

• Sizing the heat output to the internal volume of the structure
• Factoring in heat loss through (U values)
• Selecting the correct heater type for the structure, budget, and event type
• Distributing heat evenly across the marquee

Considerations when hiring a heated marquee

It’s important to ensure that we provide heat exactly where you need it, when you need it. This keeps costs low and keeps your guests comfortable and we can provide the perfect portable temporary heating solution for your marquee.

Most heated marquees are designed to maintain a comfortable internal temperature similar to a permanent venue. Noise is often a concern for events, particularly weddings and corporate events. We typically position the main equipment outside the structure. Heat is then delivered inside via ducting and diffusers. Electric fan heaters and air curtains produce some audible airflow, but this is generally minimal when placed correctly. Infrared heaters are virtually silent and are often used in quieter or transitional areas or spot heating for example, providing direct heat to security and ticket check tents where staff are positioned for extended periods of time. Safety is a critical part of any marquee heating design. Combustion never takes place inside an occupied marquee. Indirect heating systems ensure that only clean, dry heated air enters the space. Heating is just one of many ancillary fit-out and finishing options we can supply.

Fully heated marquees for all occasions

Depending on what type of event you are planning there are several heated marquees you can choose from. Here are some quick recommendations as to which heating solution may be best for your event

Heated marquees for luxury winter weddings

A cold, crip frost covered morning with blue skies can make the perfect backdrop to your luxury marquee wedding. When it comes to keeping your guests comfortable, you need a reliable and quiet heating system. If you are hiring a heated marquee for a smaller, more intimate wedding or of budget and simplicity are key drivers, fan heaters could be a strong option for your marquee. They are fast to deploy and don’t require any fuel handling making them the deal choice for smaller marquees where mains power is available.

For medium and large weddings, the core the heating solution is often indirect blown air heating, usually provided by diesel fired heaters positioned outside the structure.

Heated marquee hire for Christmas parties

Hiring a marquee for your Christmas party is a great idea! Large winter marquees and main event spaces can take a fair amount of heat demand. Indirect Diesel‑Fired or IDF heaters are the go-to solution for heating large marquees. IDF heaters sit outside the marquee and blow clean, dry, heated air into the marquee via ducting.

Heat is distributed evenly using diffusers or overhead ducts. They enable a high heat output for large spacial volumes and are safe and scalable for almost any marquee size. Importantly, we use modern IDF heaters for our marquees that are quiet and reliable.

Heated structures for long-term hire

During the winter months, we often supply industrial and storage marquees to business during their peak seasons. These are often used for additional warehouse and storage space, requiring a controlled temperature. We can manage all aspects of longer-term heating from fuel management to regular servicing and maintenance depending of which type of heating solution you prefer. For maintaining a constant temperature in large marquee over a longer period, either IDF heaters or fan heaters are recommended, depending on the size of the marquee. If you want to heat specific areas of your marquee for example a temporary work station within a structure an infrared heater might be a better option to avoid wastage on a long-term marquee hire.

What about heating large marquees?

Large marquees and multi bay structures usually require a more engineered approach. Multiple heaters may be used in combination with overhead ducting or air handlers to distribute heat evenly across the space. In higher spec or longer term installations, boiler systems or reversible heat pump solutions may also be considered, particularly where strong electrical infrastructure is available.

Field and Lawn provided a large 20m x 30m clearspan marquee on long-term hire for additional school space during renovation works. The specification included robust ABS Solid sides, a level cassette floor, with a durable Texway carpet and a full marquee heating system. We collaborated with HVAC specialist Flow Power Solutions to design a solution that worked perfectly with our marquee.

Air source heat pump for marquee heating

An Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) is a low-carbon, flexible heating and cooling solution is capable of operating across the changing seasons. For example, spring events when the temperature is cooler in the mornings but can rise in the afternoons, or for longer-term hire across the seasons. Historically, two solutions would have been required for this application, a boiler in winter and a chiller in summer. With an ASHP, the system can remotely cycle between heating and cooling as required in a matter of minutes, adapting in real time to changing weather and temperature conditions. This efficient system generates chilled or heated water depending on the climate, which was then distributed to strategically positioned fan coil units around the marquee.
