We are now recruiting for a Marquee Crew Boss / Foreman with a minimum of 5 years of experience in clearspan structures, who is eager to develop their knowledge and learn new skills. This will be a unique and diverse role within the industry. We are committed to developing the right person through training and experience into a competent all-rounder, incorporating Festive Lights, Placemaking and Temporary Buildings into their skill set.

During the summer months we provide our event marquees for a wide range of uses such as: music and food festivals, international sporting events, exhibitions, and corporate hospitality. We have also partnered up with a leading European manufacturer to supply and install custom made, permanent and semi-permanent temporary buildings throughout the UK at all times of the year. These are designed specifically for the client and no structure is the same. They can be used for warehousing, workshops, canteens, loading canopies and sporting courts.
A growing element of our business in recent years has been installing festive lighting schemes from October-January. We are involved in some of London’s biggest Christmas lighting displays such as Oxford Street and Bond Street, as well as big cities such as Kingston and Cambridge. In 2020 we had 22 teams (each team consisting of 2 crew and a mobile cherry picker) operating out of our Bristol depot and working on our lighting projects across the South. Outside of the Christmas period we are actively involved in installing decorative flags, banners, and bunting (placemaking) into many well-known streets around London to compliment the areas during the summer period. We are in the process of developing this sector to supply even more decorative products for high streets and public spaces.

We are looking for someone to manage and deliver existing contracts, as well as help generate sales, mainly for our Event Marquees and Festive Lighting divisions. We are a multi-faceted business, and we like to operate efficiently, dynamically and with client satisfaction at the core of our values. We deliver Christmas Lighting into many central areas of London including Oxford Street and Bond Street, as well as many high streets in the West End, Belgravia, Mayfair, Covent Garden and Camden. In 2020 and 2021, we installed hundreds of cross-street flags across London in response to the pandemic, and in support of the NHS. In 2022, we installed over a thousand flags and miles of bunting in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, cementing us the leading city-dressing installer in the UK.
You will be passionate about delivering projects safely and efficiently from start to finish as well as proactively seeking new opportunities through active targeting, tender opportunities and expanding our offering to existing clients. The role is diverse with responsibilities in responding to enquiries, generating enquiries, establishing requirements and advising best practices, and providing suitable and accurate quotations, then following these up to confirm the sale.
It involves visiting and measuring up potential sites, developing plans and schedules for a successful installation and aiding the development of positive relations to achieve a high percentage of profitable, repeat business. You will need to manage clients, sub-contractors, suppliers, installers and public bodies to ensure that projects run smoothly, and any obstacles are overcome.
You will report directly to the Manager of our Southern branch and would have close liaison with our company Directors to produce sales plans, strategies, and delivery objectives to achieve your stated aims and wider company targets. The majority of projects will be located in London or at least the Southern half of the country, but a flexible working pattern will be required depending on the nature and location of future projects.
New Business Development – Responsible for proactively seeking business opportunities and building sound relationships. Play an active role in marketing and advertising strategies.
Relationship Development – Responsible for proactively developing sound relationships with clients to ensure that full requirements are known, communicated and understood to enable delivery to their satisfaction and within established costs.
Enquiries & Quotations – Responsible for efficiently handling enquiries, understanding customer needs and the preparation and timely delivery of appropriate quotations ensuring the correct authorisation process is adhered to.
Job Costing – Responsible for ensuring quotations are costed accurately and then priced appropriately to win the business whilst also aiming to achieve long term customer value and achieve the targeted returns.
Site Meetings – Responsible for conducting site meetings with the prospective clients, to survey the site including site specific risk assessments and building strong relations.
Project Management – Responsible for effective delivery of contracts under your control. This will often require meticulous planning and you will be the conduit between the client and our operational team.
We are looking for someone with transferable skills that is keen to progress their career whilst learning our procedures. This person will join our Southern branch which is situated in Bristol and will be expected to be within a daily commutable distance to the office. The person should be happy to work as part of a team as well as being self-motivated, well organised, articulate, and efficient.
We are ideally looking for candidates with previous experience in either events, project management or the construction industry. A full driving license is required. Remuneration Salary will be in the region of £28k – £35k depending on experience. A targeted annual bonus scheme is available plus a mobile phone. A fully expensed car is available following successful completion of a probationary period.
